2025 WARI Council Elections
The WARI Council is a group of elected members responsible for guiding the club’s future. They make strategic decisions to ensure growth, sustainability, and long-term success while representing the interests of all Members.
Who is eligible to nominate?
To be eligible to nominate, you must be a WARI Member currently employed by one of the following:
- Public Transport Authority (PTA)
- Arc Infrastructure
- Downer (EDI) Alstom (JV)
Available Positions
Note: All positions are voluntary.
- President
- Vice-President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Councillor (x4)
Experience/Skills Required
While prior experience is not mandatory, the following qualities are highly desirable in nominees:
- A strong commitment to WARI's values
- Availability to attend monthly meetings and events as required
- A clear understanding of the WARI Council’s role and responsibilities
- Leadership capabilities and the willingness to take on responsibility
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Relevant training, experience, or interests related to WARI's activities
Nomination Process
Members can nominate themselves or be nominated by their peers, provided they meet the eligibility requirements listed on the form here. Please ensure you complete and submit the nomination form along with your application.
Terms of Office
Council members will serve a four-year term, starting on 1 June 2025.
Nomination Deadline
All nominations must be received by 4:30pm on Friday, 30 May 2025. Nominations can be submitted in person at the WARI Office or by mail to:

Electoral Procedure
The election will take place in June 2025, overseen by the WARI Returning Officer. Successful candidates will be notified and inducted during the first Council meeting in June.

Our Annual General Meeting is held each year combined with a social evening, where a re-cap of the year’s events and the Annual Report is presented to all members in attendance.
